This unit is still a bit iffy for me. The bus-powered setup is nice for cable management, but it leaves the hub a bit limited. I tried using an MST hub with this unit and it simply cannot drive the monitors. The unit pulls all of its power from the connected USB 2.0 port and I am not sure that gives enough headroom to pass a strong enough signal to multiple monitors (it is fine for a single monitor, or multiple monitors using a daisychain).The other limitation to being bus-powered is that its micro is being powered by USB along with anything plugged into the USB ports. I tried plugging in my wireless adapter for my keyboard/mouse, and that works fine by itself. As soon as I try to add a second perif (like headphones) there is nologner enough power to run everything and I loose partial functionality with the keyboard/mouse and the headset doesn't work anymore.I sent back the passive MST hub and ordered a powered hub. Hopefully my issue is simply limited to needing amplification on the line. If that is not the issue, I may have to send this unit back. I also ordered a powered USB hub that I will connect to the open USB slot. Again, hopefully a powered connection will allow everything to work fine.I really wish they made a model that is externally powered so that I can just use passive components, but for the price, this is a decent product.
