Looks like this is the first review for the CKL 4 Port KVM Switch Dual Monitor DisplayPort 4K 60Hz, 4 Computers x 2 Monitors KVM Switch.I recently got two BenQ 4k monitors and needed to upgrade the CKL HDMI version with one that supports DisplayPort in order to reach the 60Hz or greater instead of the 30Hz. I had ordered the 2 port dual DisplayPort 4k@60Hz but had to return it and replace it with this one. The reason I had to return the 2 port one is because it only capped out at 60Hz even with other resolutions such as 2k and 3k and wanted to future proof my investment. I was willing to spend the additional $100 on the 4 port version since it supports > 60Hz for lower resolutions. The price of the 4 port dual DP cost the same as one of the 4k monitors but it was worth it. With the COVID situation, I'm WFH so having the 4 ports made it much easier to switch machines and not constantly have to unplug and plug cables which in time will eventually break.I've got 3 machines hooked up to the 4 port dual DP KVM and they all are working after some minimal troubleshooting. I have 2 MacBook Pros (mid 2015), and a gaming PC (Win 10) with an EVGA GTX 1070 SC. KVMs in general are very tricky to get right. Factor in software, OS, cables, GPU, and all them monitors. This is why I stuck with the CKL brand since they are the best KVMs around with the best price. Win-win. The extensive research I've performed to find KVMs that will work for my needs have had prices over $500.Anyway, I had to troubleshoot one of the MB Pros since the 2nd screen kept flickering and showing strange lines across the screen ?♂️. It was the only machine that had issues and I have the exact same Mac for work so it could not have been the Mac OS resolution scaling or GPU issue ?. I had extra mini DP to DP adapters around so I tried using them. Issue resolved ?! Always check the cables and make sure you have some quality cables when using KVMs. The DP cables this came with are much thicker than the other DP cables I have so they have better shielding to prevent interference.# Pros ?- Best value KVM. Cheaper than other manufacturers and performs a lot better.- Quality parts. The cables are much thicker than standard DP cables.- G-Sync works with PC on a 4k@60Hz monitor. Gaming on 4k with a KVM ?- Both mid 2015 MBPs work great and the resolution scaling performance is not impacted by the KVM. It was, on the one until I replaced the cable.# Cons ?- My Razer DeathAdder is not compatible with the mouse USB port with Windows 10. It works fine with both Macs but on the PC, it kept on randomly displaying the "expose" / task view feature. I also found that increasing the DPI on the mouse caused the expose thing to show up more frequently. Not sure what that is all about but wish it worked since the wheel click x2 [left/right] click is an awesome feature to switch between machines. I had to switch to one of the standard 2.0 USB ports.I only have the 1 con since it's a bummer that the most popular gaming mouse doesn't work with the KVM however I remember all my past KVMs never had this option. The keyboard hotkey works and that's with using a Velocifire M87 mechanical Mac keyboard. The switch comes in handy too. I have it mounted beneath my Evo desk next to the height adjustment panel. I already have 3 ways of switching the KVM (main box, remote, keyboard) so the mouse feature is not that big of a deal breaker.I highly recommend this KVM. Make sure that you have some quality cables / adapters!
