I was a little skeptical about having to splice wires to replace the switch—bad design if you ask me based on what seems like a high failure rate part from the IC40 reviews....BUT, this item worked great and was easier to install than expected. I had a red no flow and flashing green/red salt lights. Pentair told me it was because my 4500ppm pool was not exactly 3600-3800ppm salt (even though the FLOW switch is the input to the flow light...SMH). Anyways, after they sent me an entire replacement unit under warranty, I thought I’d try this and the new flow switch fixed the no flow light—magic! Hope I won’t have to replace in a year again, we’ll see.
