I bought this fan because around June my horse states having really bad allergies. She starts scratching himself on the point he sometimes scrapes his skin and starts to bleed. When he does this the flies start to get worse as far as landing on him etc. I bought this fan to put in his stall and keep the flies at bay. It is working! Does it keep every fly out? No but there is a major difference. I am totally happy with this fan. It keeps him cool and there are hardly any flies in his stall.Best barn fan I've ever purchased.Northern California summers are ridiculous at 100+ degrees and this fan was a perfect addition to help keep it manageable. I recently replaced my garage door with a thick insulated door, but the air can still be thick and hot. After a ton of research on various brands, fan blade size, noise level, cfm, etc, this fan was at the top of the list. I'm glad I bought it. It moves some serious air (max 3,190 cfm on high), while drawing only 1.5 amps and at a reasonable noise level (I can comfortably watch/hear the Dodger game). The fan alone dropped my ambient temperature in the garage down approx 6-8 degrees. Definitely a solid purchase.PROS: - The ability to mount this on the wall is great. It keeps the floor clear. - 180 deg rotation is handy. I didn’t think I’d use it as much as I do. - Noise is very reasonable. On low, it just becomes white noise. - High air movement - Long power cord. Made it much easier to mount and plug in.CONS (sorta): - The balance seems to be slightly off. Mine has a very small vibration on medium. Not a deal-breaker though. - The pull chain looks like something from grandma's ceiling fan. It does the trick though.Mounting tip - Have someone there to help mount this. It's awkward to drive in the lag bolt while holding the fan at the same time. I’d recommend min 2.5” lag screw into stud or post. If you add an extra (wide) washer in between the steel mount and the wall, you can get create a swivel pivot point to allow the fan to rotate a few inches back and forth. The fan is great however it didn’t come with a mounting bracket as stated in the descriptionUsed for a horse barn for our horse. These put off a ton of airflow. In that respect they are great! They are sort of pricey but would have been worth it if not for the noise level. Literally I feel like I am yelling over them!We have a mare who stands in front of the fan and let's her mane blow in the breeze. In hindsight it would be nice if it would oscillate but simplicity is probably better.Love this machine out doors. The smell of my next door neighbour's cooking is gross and as my windows face their vent my house smells of their food. Not nice n/bours as they did not want to put up a tube going up. I have this fan on facing their house every time they cook. I have also put trees along the fence. I have made a cover for it and it is put away in the winter. The only issue I have with this fan is when set at the lowest setting it surges between low and medium speeds every 30-60 seconds... It annoying because I only really want to use the lowest setting as its quite noisy at medium and high....The rear mounted pull cord, the trinket that turns the fan into the 3 speeds and then off, just pulled out of it's socket, after just a few months of use. I'm pretty handy, but 2 min in, i realized i would have to take the whole unit apart, just to have a chance. Maybe 3-4 hours work.F*#K THAT, don't buy it. Bad design.Seemed like it was well made. Unfortunately the low grade switch broke within a month of very limited use. Fan seems decent. Switch assembly is junk!!! More landfill crap from China.
