This game is truly beautiful and well written!! I'm not normally a fan of RTS games, but the blend of traditional RPG elements with RTS game play is done masterfully. There is alot to explore and the game play loop never feels dull. I appreciate the amount of customization you can give your units (which characters to use, equipment for each character, character placement within the unit, selecting unit leader). Similarly to Fire Emblem, you can build relationships between your characters and have unique scenes play out. I have not finished the game, but it seems the only character that can "romance" is the main character, though characters other than the main character can interact with each other. This game is a must if you enjoy RPGs, the RTS element of the game is incredibly easy to pick up even if you have never played one before.PLEASE READ:The RTS aspect of the game is theMain focus. If you are expecting a traditional RPG you will be disappointed. The characters are highly customizable, but they will auto-battle enemies. You can customize how your characters auto-battle similarly to how the Gambit System works in Final Fantasy XII. It's a unique and intimate spin on the RTS genre and can be highly rewarding during game play.Monarch Edition:The packaging is incredibly beautiful and having access to a physical deck building game to play with friends is such a unique concept for a special edition of a game and worth having! The digital extras for the game are a little lack luster, you can change your army's sigil to have elements of other games Atlus has worked on. It's a really nice call back, but ultimately does not effect game play.
