The kit quality is excellent, but a couple of things you should know.First, you’ll lose the 10 tables that are installed on your original PCB, because this kit replaces that. You can find the same tables (although different versions of them) for sale to download, but you’ll be paying for them again.Second, you’ll obviously be using the various pinball games available on your Nintendo Switch, which you will need to already own, or purchase one separately (again, more money paid.)Third, since it’s those games you’re playing, the angle of the tables will no longer look as though they are an actual playfield due to the fact that games like Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX3 have a dynamic camera that flies around the virtual table, and shows the outside of the table itself on the screen. So the illusion that you’re playing a real pinball machine is lost.Fourth, I’ve seen many of the Arcade1up pinball tables come with a 12v/3A power supply. This may work for the original PCB, but with this new setup, you will need to ensure that you use a minimum 12v/5A power supply. If not, every time your solenoids fire, the entire setup will switch off due to the current draw being too high and the power supply going into a shutdown protection mode.Aside from that, the kit is put together very well with what appear to be good quality components. Not top of the line, but good. The provided instructions can a bit confusing at times, but between those and the instructional videos you can find on YouTube about how to set everything up, it’s pretty simple.I would also suggest using some stand-offs to remount the new PCB’s without the cases to the body of the table as opposed to the back of the monitor for better air circulation. But that requires adding a wire to attach the ground to the monitor and getting an LVDS cable extension for the monitor so you can open and close the monitor frame without issues. In closing, now that the kit is just under $90, it’s well worth the price, IMO.Btw, there are a lot of Facebook and Reddit groups for Arcade1up mods that you can join if you need help with the kit install. Have fun!
