There are other harnesses out there that are much cheaper that will do what this does, I have used them. Typically, I use them when I am installing for someone that just wants a less expensive alternative. They will work but to me it is worth the extra money, and I only use this kit for my own vehicles. The starkey kit has better / thicker wiring, it is already in a plastic shielding which makes it easier to install, and it has one of the better switches and relays in the kit.Starkey is quick to answer emails, they have a great video on the install. Granted it is of an F150, but it will apply to any vehicle.Starkey has 3 versions of this harness:#1 Just this harness with the switch as seen here.#2 This harness with their lights#3 This harness with Rigid lightsI typically just buy this harness setup and get Hella flood lights, they are less expensive than the Rigid lights, not as good but I just really need the lighting because back up cameras usually suck at night on trucks, not looking to light up an area for a campground or party or other reasons.I have used this harness on a 2014 F150 4 door 6 1/2' bed, and had extra harness left over. On smaller vehicles, just trim the ends off where you do not need - after you install, or just tuck and zip tie the excess. I tuck and zip tie, if someone rear ends me I would rather have the excess there to trim if needed instead of splicing or installing a new harness. The hardest part when installing, is getting through the firewall. I have never been able to get it through a grommet that has other wires already present. Just a blank grommet - no problem, just cut an X in the grommet and push through. If no grommet, use a step drill to make your hole - just verify nothing on the other side when drilling.Pay attention to the wiring diagram for the switch. Go to Starkey's website and they have the installation material there that you can read before installing.
