The RA454 headset is all about taking control while you’re in the pilot’s seat. Dual volume controls allow you to adjust the volume in each ear dome. A toggle switch allows you to change between mono and stereo output. Lastly, an ear dome push-to-talk button makes transmitting a breeze. With all these controls at your fingertips, any private pilot has the ability to create a custom audio experience. Sticking with the basics, the RA454 also offers clear hear 50mm performance audio speakers, an EM56 noise reflective cup microphone covered with a foam wind block mic muff, a 3.5mm music input jack and gold plated plugs. Foam fit ear seals, stainless steel headband and deep pocket ear canals provide excellent comfort. Weighing in at only 14.9oz, the RA454 headset is easy to wear for the flight's duration. I love it when people make pro's and con's lists. Unfortunately my review will be rather brief due to the fact that you have better things to to with your life, and i simply have nothing bad to say about this headset!! I'm a beginner pilot and these is my first set. While my only measuring stick of comparison are the headsets handed out by my flight school, I am seriously considering telling my instructor about Rugged Air radio's. The headset i received was packaged as well as headset's can be, the speakers are crisp and clear, and the microphone arm is ridged yet maneuverable. The product details stated that the headphones would cancel 26dbl, but i somehow get the feeling that it does a little more than that. Over all, it's a great headphone for the price. Of course the Boses one's are going to be better, and if you have the available means to spend ten times the cost of these headsets then by all means, go for it. But for the rest of us down here on earth, these are a great find.
