In the middle of the season my old trusty Husqvarna mower died and the front end needed rebuilt- years of hitting rocks jacked up and warped all the metal and steering gears… if I had known how much that would have cost from the shop I’d have just got a new mower. No sooner than I get it out to mow does the blade starter switch fry. Come to find out it was the PTO clutch. The shop couldn’t find a used one so I determined to do it myself to avoid longer delays and higher costs. Found this and tried it. Trying to get it in place from under the mower is a struggle, but I managed. There’s a YT vid on install and a q&a in the comments informed me how to bolt this spinny thing in place! Take out a spark plug and feed a rope into the spot and have it seize up on it. That’ll let you tighten it… don’t forget to put the spark plug back when you’re done… lol. Don’t ask me why I’d mention that. Anyway, this and another new switch for the blade and I could finally mow again. While I had the deck off I replaced the spindles and blades and guards because it is a pain in the neck and had been a looooong time, but that’s another story. This works great and isn’t impossible to do, but a third hand or a lift would be nice to have instead of a floor jack, stands and willpower.
