I bought this to use occasionally while working on a laptop in the kitchen. It was easy to assemble (but do look at the instructions, or you may miss a crucial step or two), it's very light and easy to move around, and it looks sharp. However, once I initially raised the stool to its full height, it got stuck there. I emailed customer service and was happy when I got a quick reply. There was quite a bit of (polite) back and forth while I confirmed that I had assembled the stool correctly, but I was asked to remove the seat and send a photo of the top of the hydraulic mechanism to prove it. I did this and was told there was likely a "connection" issue and was given tips to address it. However, when I put the seat back on the problem resolved on its own. Which was okay, too.So I had gotten a fussy but not defective chair, and now it's great. The ability to adjust the height is great (especially once it works!) However, the seat is too hard and thin for long-term use, but I didn't buy it for that. If you are looking for stools that people will be sitting on for extended lengths of time, you may want to invest in something with seats with more padding. But if you want something sharp-looking and for short-term sitting, these should serve you well.
