Long story but with mergers etc , this IS a “Factory “ Nissan Part. Nissan never made these themselves. They were and still are contracted out. Engine wouldn’t even idle without stalling over and over. Various rich and lean check engine DTC CODES that made No Sense. Fuel Trims were a complete mess. The computer thought engine was getting too much fuel and fuel trims took away fuel causing stalling because MAF was LYING about air flow. I decided to replace MAF and now everything is PERFECT. Runs like a new car ! No more stalling. Now no codes , fuel trims are Perfect and even passed emissions test ! Mileage and performance is even improved. MAF issues are tough to diagnose. Never got a Maf sensor code. BUT MAF Was the problem. MAF sensors eventually can get dirty and report the Wrong air flow readings to the computer and throw everything out of whack way before the Maf actually fails. Clues are BOTH banks being affected. That rules out One bad fuel injector or One bad spark plug or One bad oxygen sensor etc. Really out of range fuel trims that make No Sense. Sometimes lean. Sometimes rich. That rules out many other potential problems. Maf LIES to computer when worn / dirty and bizarre codes come up that are inconsistent and don’t make sense. Anyhow, Nissans are Very Fussy about ANY Emissions related sensors and this MAF unit is working fantastic on my 2001 Pathfinder. The cost is much better than getting an aftermarket sensor and finding out it doesn’t work. Sadly, Nissans want Nissan parts. Computer sensors Aftermarket parts usually don’t work. This Factory part works Incredibly good ! Worth every penny. IF check engine light is on and codes aren’t making sense and BOTH banks are affected think about the MAF before replacing hundreds or thousands on parts you don’t need that don’t solve the problem. Remember too that the First sensor dealing with the air fuel ratio functions is the MAF just behind the air filter and it usually affects BOTH banks / sides of the engine. Very common problem. It’s is a priceless resource to have. Saved me literally thousands since I bought mine and no, amazon does Not pay me to endorse the BlueDriver Device ! I love mine ! It shows Everything that’s going on within the engine / computer sensors readings etc as well as being a check engine code reader and even has a smog / emissions test function and so much more fantastic stuff.
