This is a great cooling tower fan. It has the capacity to operate as just a regular fan or an evaporative air cooler.The fan has three speed settings, a timer mode, swing mode and a cooling mode. To use the cooling feature you add water to the bottom water tank and employ the cooling button. It also comes with icepacks that when you freeze them and put them in the water it helps cool the temperature down. It has been extremely helpful during this heatwave that we are having in California. It has allowed me to keep my A/C unit at a higher temperature to give it a break but also keep a room cool enough to bear the heat.I do suggest if you are going to use the evaporative feature that you take out the bottom water tank and clean it out at least once a week. It was a bit tricky taking out and replacing the water pump the first time but it gets easier with practice. They also made it very easy to remove the back panel to clean the water curtain paper.
