Description
Heat Both the tank heater pads and the elbow heater pads are specifically designed to insulate and heat your tanks and pipe elbows, respectively. Used by RV owners for years, they provide warmth and water safety down to -11° F, depending on your RV’s design and if the pad was properly installed. The tank heater pad measures 12” W by 18” L and the elbow heater pad measures 13” L by 3” W. Both pads are 3.0 MM thick and are rated for 13.5V DC. The tank heater pad covers fresh, grey, and black water tanks up to 50 gallons and includes a 36” lead wire. The elbow heater pads are to be used with 3” elbow pipes and come with an 18” lead wire Convenience While the tank heaters have automatic sensors telling them when it is time to turn on and off, the elbow heater pads do not. Because of this, the toggle switch is easy to use and read, with a clearly defined label on it as well as an LED light built into the switch, allowing you to see whether the heater pads are on even in the middle of the night. Because the control panel is rated for 20 amps, make sure that the circuit of heater pads does not exceed this amount. If it does, make sure to include more than one toggle switch to handle the electric flow. As described. Use eternabond or vinyl tape around edges, as I'm not confident these wouldn't peel off no matter how clean you get the tanks.I also feel they could have done a better job sealing the entry point of the wires to the pad. I mean, these things are exposed on the underbelly of your rig, so every effort to prevent water infiltration should be taken.Take the extra steps to seal and secure and they should work fine. Have not had any freeze ups in extended temps <20°F. Will update after first full winter.
